Sugar Bowl and Creamer Set: Victoria and Albert Alice in Wonderland

This sugar bowl and creamer is a curious set for tea time! Alice in Wonderland draws upon a playing card game from 1918, based on the book illustrations by Sir John Tenniel (1820–1914).

Portraying scenes of Alice and the Mad Hatter, the illustrations are hand-drawn in black and white with a touch of luxury gold decal.

The round sugar pot with a lid shows Alice holding a flamingo mallet and the twirling “Curiouser and curiouser” quote, while the cream jug shows the Mad Hatter”s tea party with the iconic “We’re all mad here”.
