I have used cast iron stove-top grills in the past. I now have a glass top electric stove and am reluctant to use cast iron on it. I also was looking for an easy-to-clean surface on a grill pan. I ordered this grill pan and used it with vegetables and then chicken breasts for dinner tonight. I preheated the pan to low moderate and found I was able to get good grill marks and good flavour at this temperature. (I’ve also found these results to be true at this temperature with other pans on this stove. It’s not like using a regular electric coil burner. I wouldn’t heat the pan to high temperatures on this stove.) The surface of the grill pan also cleaned easily using a dish brush and liquid soap. I had no problems with any smells from the coating on the pan or flaking of the finish, as others stated. I’m happy with my choice!

The “Nordic Ware Pro Cast Flattop Reversible Round Griddle” is exactly what I needed for grilling fish. It is light weight; nonstick; has both a flat side and a ridged side; and, best of all, it is made in the USA. This reversible griddle is not so large that it takes up the entire surface of the Weber Genesis Gas Grill on which it is used. There remains enough room to cook items other than those cooking on the reversible griddle.
The “Nordic Ware Pro Cast Flattop Reversible Round Griddle” is truly nonstick. Salmon and trout cook beautifully; the skin is crisp, but not burned. The reversible griddle cleans up beautifully; it requires only a quick soaping and rinsing. Cleanup is so easy, there is no need to be concerned about the recommendation to hand wash rather than using the dishwasher.
