I wanted a digital thermometer to experiment with making confectionery, and this has ticked all my boxes.
-Construction
The thermometer seems sturdy, I have used it a couple of times now and it can definitely stand the heat. As the clip is not fixed to the thermometer, it clips comfortably to any sized pan, and the guard provided keeps any splashes away from the electronics.
-Preset Temperatures
The thermometer is preset with the temperatures you want for working with sugar, and you can scroll through these by just pressing one button (‘mode’). This makes life easy, no programming required and you don’t have to remember the temperature of the stages (soft ball, hard ball, etc.). It starts to beep as the set temperature is reached, so you can take your eye off the gauge safely without burning the sugar.
